To celebrate our best cooks and recognize them for being the top in their trade, we held our very first MASTER COOK COMPETITION to determine the greatest cook in each brand! This is how it worked:
WEEK 1
QUALIFIERS BEST COOKS/AREA
Each store submitted one cook.
General managers selected their top cook (one per store).
Area coaches hosted a competition in their area to select their 3 best cooks to represent their area. Each cook was recognized for being a top cook in their restaurant.
WEEK 2 MARKET TOURNAMENT
Each brand hosted a tournament between all semi finalists from all areas to determine which cooks were going to the finals.
Area Coaches were the panel of judges to score based on speed, presentation and process.
WEEK 3 FINALS
The finalists were gathered and the champions were chosen with the panel of judges being Market Director and other ARLs in the leadership team.
One winner was selected as the master cook of their brand.

We had a great time at March Madness. It gave our team members an opportunity to build relationships with their peers, and to just have fun. Our finalists had a blast showcasing their skills and loved the energy of the RGMs recognizing and cheering them on. The engagement of our team during the competition, and even afterwards in stores, has been amazing and we already have team members asking when our next competition is going to be held!
