Emerge spotted Sonic's intent to re-franchise some of its company-owned locations, which resulted in increased sales for the company. Sonic has sold over 100 stores in Texas, Florida, and Kansas to new operators, with a focus on areas where franchised locations had outperformed company-owned restaurants.
